The Courtyard Farm is located at 111
Bedford Center Road, Bedford Hills, NY. This beautiful new facility is
truly unique and virtually irreplaceable given the stone masonry
craftsmanship. It is most certainly one of the finest facilities in New
York.
Originally built in 1904 as The Honorable Seth Lowe’s country estate – the
barns were for horses; a third building was housing for farm workers.
Numerous outbuildings and the barn complex were destroyed by a fire in
1970.
Left as a
stone ruins for 30 years, Kristen Carollo purchased the parcel in 2001 of
31 acres including the stone foundations, with the intent of resurrecting
the barns to their original and opening a state-of-the-art Hinter/Jumper
Show Stable.
The
project nearly 90 percent complete boasts a 38 box stall stable with a
large heated tack room, 2 wash stalls, hay lofts, storage lofts, sprinkler
system, bathroom/laundry room.
The rest
of the complex is compromised of 80x180 indoor riding area with an
attached lounge to include computer hook-up, TV, VCR, couches and a
bathroom.
Bedford,
being a horse community, has a 200 mile trail system that is well known
throughout the country called the BRLA (Bedford Riding Lanes Association)
and the Courtyard Farm property runs through it, making it even more
desirable.
The
Courtyard Farm is centrally located to all of the largest east coast
shows, and is only one hour from Manhattan, with easy access to major
highways and Metro North train station only one mile away.
The Farm
has not only enhanced the community and provided a more sophisticated
riding facility, but has also improved a significant Bedford landmark.
